Blencowe Resources (BREShas posted updated JORC reserve and resource numbers for its Orom-Cross graphite project in Uganda.

The new reserve stands at 23.08 million tonnes of ore grading 5.18% total graphitic content, while the new resource stands at 26.1 million tonnes at 5.58% TGC.

This represents a 47% increase on the previous reserve, and a 33% increase in indicated resources, further underpinning Orom-Cross’s potential to be a large-scale, long-life, low-cost graphite project.

The upgrade incorporates all the infill drilling undertaken in 2025 across the Camp Lode and Northern Syncline/Eastern Limb deposits and represents the final key technical input into the company's definitive feasibility study, to be published shortly.

"This upgraded JORC is transformational for Orom-Cross,” said Cameron Pearce, Blencowe’s executive chairman.

“The substantial increase in ore reserves and indicated resources confirms the quality, scale and longevity of the project as we move into the DFS and financing phase. The remaining 192 exploration holes and the deep drilling results, which all ended in mineralisation, highlight the huge potential for further JORC Resource upgrades still ahead of us in early 2026. With the DFS due to be published shortly, we will be able to demonstrate the strengthened technical and economic foundations of Orom-Cross at a time when secure, high-quality graphite supply is becoming increasingly important to Western governments."

Important to note that this update covers only infill drilling results from 39 holes at Camp Lode and Northern Syncline. A further 192 step-out holes, drilled across the wider mining license area at the new Iyan and Beehive deposits, including six deep holes, are yet to be incorporated. That means that after the DFS is published there’s likely to be a significant further resource update. What’s more, only around 2% of the licence area at Orom-Cross has thus far been drilled to date. So there’s a lot more on the table – a fact that’s already being recognised by some of the partnerships Blencowe has been able to put in place.
