ATOME has been pushed into releasing a series of corrections to media statements in Paraguay that have been either materially incorrect or misleading. None of these really move the situation along but correcting mischaracterisations certainly helps to keep ATOME’s position clear with all parties and clarifies ATOME’s position should it be backed into pursuing a claim. That position remains that ATOME continues to act in good faith to seek an amicable and financially sound resolution but that if that cannot be achieved it will pursue a claim under the UK Paraguay Bilateral Investment Treaty.
