Research on IP Group plc (IPO:LON) from Equity Development

IP Group has been appointed by Aberdeen Investments to manage a UK venture growth portfolio, via the CG Scottish Widows Growth LTAF. This is one of the first initiatives to actively allocate UK pension scheme members’ capital to UK venture growth - connecting patient institutional capital with British businesses of high potential. It has announced that the first investments will be deployed across several strategically important areas of UK innovation, including quantum computing, advanced battery technology and AI-enabled healthcare. CEO Greg Smith said: “We believe this is only the beginning of a much larger opportunity to unlock growth, support economic prosperity and deliver attractive long-term returns for savers.” We retain our 111p fair value / share estimate but think this mandate should be a key contributor to fee income growth.
