After successfully raising £8.75m (gross) earlier this month at 0.2p/share, kidney-transplant diagnostics expert Verici Dx  announced some further positive news today.

Saying that it had signed an order (value not disclosed) with the healthcare/therapeutics division of Asahi Kasei Group ($13.5bn mrkcap) wrt an upcoming Phase 2 clinical trial evaluating pegrizeprument. An investigational maintenance immunosuppressive therapy being developed for the prevention of acute rejection in solid organ transplant recipients.

Moreover as part of the trial, Verici Dx will perform blood-based biomarker testing, including using its Pre-Transplant Risk Assessment (PTRA) assay, which is also being separately commercialised by Thermo Fisher. The molecular data generated will help evaluate biomarker signatures associated in patients receiving pegrizeprument.

CEO Sara Barrington, commenting: "Clinical trials represent an important opportunity to better understand the biological mechanisms underlying transplant success and rejection. By incorporating advanced molecular diagnostics into therapeutic development and clinical research, we can generate valuable insights that may ultimately help personalize post-transplant care.”

But that’s not all

Elsewhere Verici Dx said that it welcomed the US Department of Health & Human Services' launch of the 2026 Kidney Care National Plan. A strategy focused on preventing kidney failure, improving dialysis care and reforming transplantation. Clearly a move which should hopefully boost sales of its lead diagnostic Tutivia, which assesses acute rejection risk in kidney transplant patients - crucially before possible damage to a transplanted organ has occurred.
