Shearwater Group (SWG ) has expanded an existing contract with a central government department for the provision of threat intelligence services supporting internal security operations.
The expanded agreement has a total contract value of around £1 million over a three-year term. It reflects both an extension of contract duration and an increase in services consumed.
The cybersecurity, advisory and managed security services group noted that the contract expansion supports delivery of FY26 market expectations.
Under the expanded arrangement, the government department is consolidating threat intelligence services for smaller government organisations via an internal shared services model, acting as the lead organisation.
Shearwater Group Chief Executive Officer Phil Higgins said: "This expansion demonstrates the strength of our relationship with a central Government customer and the value of our threat intelligence solutions. Extending the term and increasing service consumption supports the department's shared services model while providing a platform for further growth."

This looks like a useful win for Shearwater, with multi-year contracted revenue and a clear expansion in scope rather than a simple renewal. Meanwhile, the shared services angle could help embed the group deeper into government security operations, which can be sticky once established.
