RentGuarantor Holdings (RGG)  has signed a two-year partnership with King’s College London to provide professional guarantor services to its student body, including about 20,000 overseas students.

Under the agreement, RentGuarantor will become a professional guarantor partner for the university, helping eligible students secure private rented accommodation, particularly in central London close to its campuses.

The company said the partnership provides access to a significant pool of prospective tenants who may require a professional guarantor. Overseas students are more likely to lack access to a UK resident who can act as guarantor, making professional services particularly relevant when securing accommodation.

RentGuarantor added that the Renters’ Rights Act has strengthened this market opportunity by prohibiting rent-in-advance payments as an alternative way of securing a tenancy.

The agreement forms part of the company’s strategy to expand relationships with universities and other institutions alongside its existing network of landlords, letting agents and industry operators.

RentGuarantor’s CEO Paul Foy said: “For RentGuarantor, this agreement provides access to a substantial potential addressable student population, the fourth largest in the UK, and therefore a significant pool of prospective tenants who may require a professional guarantor. The timing of the agreement is also particularly positive, with Master’s students beginning to enrol from November through to February. We look forward to working closely with King’s College London to support eligible students in securing accommodation, while positioning the Company to capitalise on a highly attractive opportunity within London's dynamic rental market.”

The King’s College London partnership strengthens RentGuarantor’s university channel and gives the company direct exposure to a large international student population with a clear need for professional guarantor services. The timing ahead of the Master’s enrolment period could also support near-term customer acquisition.
