Poolbeg Pharma (POLB) said recruitment for its POLB 001 TOPICAL trial is progressing well, with eight participants now dosed since the first patient was treated in July 2026.
The clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company said the study is expected to enrol about 30 participants in total.
Recruitment activity remains encouraging, supported by engagement from investigators, participating centres and patients. Poolbeg said additional clinical sites have also expressed interest in joining the trial, potentially supporting further site expansion in the coming months.
The TOPICAL trial is evaluating POLB 001 as a potential preventative treatment for Cytokine Release Syndrome (CRS) caused by cancer immunotherapy. The study is enrolling patients with relapsed or refractory multiple myeloma who are receiving the approved bispecific antibody teclistamab.
