Panther Metals (PALM ) has commenced drill pad preparations at two prospects on the Obonga project in Ontario.
Wishbone is an emerging and highly prospective zinc and copper volcanogenic massive sulphide system, while Awkward is prospective for magmatic sulphides potentially containing nickel, copper, platinum group elements and associated elements.
Drill pad preparations will be commencing onsite during the coming week, under the direction of geological contractor Bayside Geoscience Inc.
"We are pleased to be commencing drill pad construction works at both the Wishbone and Awkward prospects, a key milestone as we move decisively toward our upcoming drilling programme,” said Darren Hazelwood, Panther’s chief executive.
“At Wishbone, the previously reported zinc and copper intersection highlights the potential for a material mineralised system. At Awkward, our conduit-style model, interpreted as a potentially sulphide-laden magmatic feeder pipe, represents a highly compelling target with the potential to host a significant new deposit. With drilling imminent, we are entering an exciting phase of exploration and remain focused on delivering strong, value-driven results for shareholders."

There’s a lot going on inside Panther at the moment, as development work at the Winston tailings project continues apace, but the company is going big game hunting at Obonga, and the payoffs are potentially very significant. This will be a significant summer of newsflow for the company, and if the results come in good from either Awkward or Wishbone or both, it could give the shares, which are already at a 12-month high, a considerable further boost.
