Research on ATOME PLC (ATOM:LON) from Longspur Clean Energy
ATOME’s serving of a Notice of Dispute and Intent to Submit a Claim of Arbitration against Paraguay under the existing UK-Paraguay Bilateral Investment Treaty would appear to raise the stakes in the negotiations currently underway to satisfactorily resolve the PPA for the Villeta green fertiliser project. While this move seems a protective one in our view it importantly sets a three-month deadline for a viable resolution after which ATOME will pursue the claim under the Treaty at the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes.
