Intelligent Ultrasound (IUG ) has further strengthened its presence across mainland Europe through new reseller partnerships with an Italian company and a French-based company.

The partnerships with SimulKare Italy and Skills Meducation France will allow IU to deliver its vision of ‘making ultrasound more accessible to all medical professionals’ via local experts.

The Cardiff-based ultrasound firm, which specialises in artificial intelligence (AI) software and simulation, already has a global presence with offices in the UK, USA and Beijing in China. Today, the company has over 1,350 simulation systems within 650 plus medical institutions.

Intelligent Ultrasound explained on Thursday that SimulKare and Skills Meducation will join a group of 28 regional representatives responsible for reselling its classroom platforms including ScanTrainer, BodyWorks, HeartWorks and BabyWorks as well as its NeedleTrainer platform.

Under the terms of the deal, SimulKare and Skills Meducation, respectively, will sell these platforms into Europe and use their local knowledge, teams and client bases to help IU to realise its overall objective to make ‘ultrasound more accessible to medical professionals’.

Based in Cesena, Italy, SimulKare was formed by 2 biomedical engineers specialising in the field of medical simulation with a mission to improve training for healthcare professionals.

Having worked alongside the company since the start of 2022, SimulKare has already been actively demonstrating its platforms at key medical simulation conferences and workshops.

In particular, BabyWorks and NeedleTrainer have been of particular interest as the need for neonatal and regional anaesthesia procedures and techniques rises in Italian hospitals.

Founded in 1995, Skills Meducation started its journey in Amsterdam, and its partnership with IUG evolved earlier this year in January 2022 as it further matured into the French market.

Skills Meducation are helping launch new products including BabyWorks and NeedleTrainer into the region, while continuing to support IUG’s existing network of 30 ScanTrainer sites along with centres providing the Diploma in Gynaecological and Obstetric Ultrasound.

Commenting on the new reseller partnerships, Craig Henshaw, Vice President of Global Channel Sales at IU commented “We are delighted to be partnering with SimulKare and Skills Meducation. As an organisation we strive to be the best in our field and our regional partners are an extension of this. I look forward to expanding our partnerships with the Italian and French teams as IU’s portfolio of platforms continues to grow in their respective regions.”
