Inspiration Healthcare (IHC,), a global medical technology company, has announced the launch of an extended range of neonatal ventilators in the UK.
The new SLE6000 variants are designed to facilitate precise, controlled ventilation for critically ill infants. The products have been launched in the UK, where they will be sold directly and to selected international distributors. The rollout internationally will continue throughout the year.
The three new variants cater to the specialised healthcare needs of vulnerable patients in critical and high-dependency care settings, offering non-invasive respiratory support. This represents a new market segment for the company.
The SLE6000H offers powerful high-frequency oscillation, which actively controls pressure, volume, and frequency to help protect the small and fragile lungs of critically ill patients. The SLE6000C features full specification invasive and non-invasive modes, which can be easily adapted depending on the baby's needs. The third variant, the SLE6000N, provides a suite of non-invasive, multi-mode respiratory support for less sick babies and those transitioning from respiratory support, enabling more important skin-to-skin contact between parents and baby.
Each variant also includes the option for Oxygenie®, the Company's automated oxygen control algorithm which is a key element in maintaining appropriate oxygen levels for neonates, helping to improve outcomes.
Neil Campbell, CEO of Inspiration Healthcare Group plc commented: "We're delighted to extend our range of ventilators with this launch, which is further demonstration of our continued commitment to pioneering innovative technologies to improve neonatal healthcare and help save the lives of premature babies around the world. We are excited about the potential of these products around the world."

Another key milestone achieved for Inspiration Healthcare, which sits ahead of the curve by allowing even further levels of specificity for the treatment of newborns to deliver improved clinical outcomes. The company’s ventilator range extension is timely, given that 60% of infants admitted to intensive care units need to receive medical ventilation in the UK every year, with specialised care needed for the small and fragile lungs of newborns.
Outside of the UK, the demand for Inspiration Healthcare’s SLE ventilators is huge - used extensively in neonatal intensive care units around the world to treat premature and sick babies, the company recently secured a £600k order for the supply of SLE ventilators and associated consumables from its Japanese distributor.
Inspiration Healthcare’s other products have seen a similar level of demand, most notably announcing a €300k order for the supply of its CosyTherm2 patient warming system to a charity that is acquiring medical products for hospitals in Ukraine, demonstrating the company's part in improving outcomes in a highly challenging situation.
Inspiration Healthcare will announce its annual results for 2022 on May 3rd, and is expecting to report revenues of approximately £41.2 million, representing an increase compared to the prior financial year and in line with market expectations.
