Georgina Energy (GEX)  has completed several key pre-drill site works at its wholly owned Hussar EP513 project in Western Australia, keeping the company on track for a September 2026 spud date.

The work marks another milestone ahead of mobilisation of the contracted Ensign 970 drilling rig, which will test one of Australia's largest onshore subsalt helium, hydrogen and hydrocarbon prospects. The Hussar prospect covers about 300 square kilometres of structural closure.

The company said the drill pad, site pad, accommodation pad and campsite have now been cleared and graded, while assessments indicate the ground can be accurately levelled and compacted ahead of drilling. Airstrip repairs and widening have also been completed, with the upgraded runway now operational.

In addition, Georgina has selected a location for a water well on the drilling pad, completed upgrades to seismic access tracks linking the wellsite to the Gunbarrel Highway, and confirmed road improvements between the highway and Wiluna can support heavy semi-trailer traffic required for the drilling campaign.

The remaining site preparation work, including final levelling and compaction, is expected to be completed in line with the approved Well Management Plan before the Ensign 970 rig mobilises. The company said the September spud date remains on schedule.

The Hussar well is planned to reach a depth of about 3,200 metres and will target the Townsend Formation together with fractured Neoproterozoic basement rocks for helium, hydrogen and natural gas.

“Georgina's contractors have completed the required preliminary site works for the drilling and development of its wholly owned Hussar EP513 Project,” said Georgina Energy Chief Executive Officer Anthony Hamilton.

“Following our site visit and inspection, I am pleased to confirm the progress made which will support both the mobilisation of the Ensign Drill Rig and completion of the engineering works required to enable the drill testing of this exciting prospect in Q3 2026.

“With 300 square kilometres of areal closure, the Hussar prospect is one of the largest subsalt helium, hydrogen and hydrocarbon prospects onshore in Australia.”

Georgina continues to deliver operational milestones ahead of its fully funded Hussar drilling campaign. With site preparation progressing as planned and the September spud date maintained, investor attention is likely to remain focused on the mobilisation of the drilling rig and the first test of what management believes is a globally significant helium and hydrogen exploration target.
